GoFundMe Campaign – Help Rohit Rebuild
β Rohit Sohanlal
For over two years, I have endured a campaign of harassment that has stripped away my safety, work, and stability. Despite filing more than 35 complaints with Toronto Police, Durham Police, the RCMP Cybercrime Unit, and oversight bodies, the abuse continues.
This is not random. It is economic and social sabotage β a pattern of intimidation, surveillance, and disruption designed to wear me down until I have nothing left.
What This Looks Like in Daily Life
The harassment is not a single incident but a constant pattern, following me into every part of my life.
- Harassment in housing: My living situations have been made miserable with relentless abuse. This has included sexual harassment, acoustic intrusions on my body, and the relaying of private information to others that they could not have obtained otherwise. In total, I have been forced out of homes more than five times. Each move meant losing deposits, losing stability, and being pushed further into insecurity.
- Work disruption: Both of my eBikes β my only tools for earning income β were stolen. These thefts were devastating. They cut off my ability to work, forced me into deeper debt, and were timed in ways that made recovery even harder.
- Intrusion through technology: Ultrasonic and radar-based audio devices are used to project degrading and sexualized commentary around me. These broadcasts echo my private words in public, flag me to strangers, and make me vulnerable to bullying. This intrusion is constant β I cannot predict when or where it will happen.
- Surveillance and intimidation: I am tracked wherever I go. Strangers β often claiming ties to police or RCMP but refusing to identify themselves β intrude on my interactions and echo my actions in real time. What should be ordinary life is turned into a public spectacle, stripping me of safety and dignity.
The Impact
The toll of this harassment is deep and ongoing.
Work & Daily Life
Every job, interview, or even casual interaction is shadowed by intrusion, bullying, and disruption. Whether in housing, cafΓ©s, libraries, or public spaces, the harassment follows me. This relentless pressure makes steady employment β or even being productive as desired β nearly impossible.
Relationships
Friends, neighbors, and colleagues are drawn into the disruption or pressured to distance themselves. Harassment is performed openly, isolating me and leaving me without support.
Mental and Physical Health
Living under constant surveillance, harassment, and sexualized abuse has left lasting scars. The intrusions are not only humiliating but psychologically destructive. They disrupt sleep, heighten stress, and create physical effects through targeted acoustic attacks.
Why Iβm Asking for Help
The financial impact of this campaign of harassment has been devastating. Years of instability, eviction, theft, and disrupted work have left me carrying debts I cannot manage alone.
Your support will help me:
- Cover legal filings and court costs from multiple civil cases Iβve had to bring forward
- Manage tuition and survival debt caused by lost income
- Access therapy and trauma recovery to rebuild my health
- Secure safe and stable housing so I can live without fear of being forced out again
Even a small contribution will make a real difference in helping me survive and rebuild.
Why This Matters
This is bigger than one individual story. It shows how technology, intimidation, and silence can be weaponized to:
- Destroy careers and reputations
- Strip away privacy and dignity
- Reduce daily life to humiliation and spectacle
- Drive people into isolation through fear and coercion
The parallels to carding in Toronto are clear. Carding made people visible only as suspects, costing them safety and economic opportunity. In my case, the effect is the same β only digitized, sexualized, and constant. The result has been the same loss of opportunity, stability, and dignity.
Whatβs at Stake
If unchecked, this harassment becomes the new normal. It shows how harassment networks can act with impunity, while victims are left to fight alone. It demonstrates how technology can be misused to monitor, humiliate, and destabilize people in plain sight.
But it also shows something else: that survival is possible when communities come together. That even when institutions fail, people can choose to stand in solidarity with those targeted.
How You Can Help

Closing
I never thought I would need to start a campaign like this. But after years of harassment, displacement, and intimidation, I need help to survive, rebuild, and continue fighting for justice.
Your support β whether through a donation, a share, or simply standing with me β makes a real difference.
